A NOTE OF THE PRINCIPAL

Before I would say something about the college, I am glad to express my heartiest thanks and greetings to the students and their parents for their generous option to be a member of this college. In Kokrajhar, there is lot of option for pursuing higher education; nevertheless, they have shown their kin interest and affection towards this college. I really appreciate their preference. Girls’ College Kokrajhar was established in 1990, 14th August with a view to impart higher education to the women folk of this backward region to curb gender distinction, spread the essence of social justice and empower the women folk and thereby ensure social upliftment of the marginalised section irrespective of their caste, creed, religion and language. I feel proud to say that since last 30years of its journey, the college has been contributing towards the mission. Side by side, today it has achieved a self-identity of its existence as a premier women institution of higher education of Kokrajhar as well as of entire BTAD. During last 30 years the college has achieved several milestones of success. From academic point of view, it has received accreditation by NAAC in the year 2019 and in the entire BTAD it is the lone women institution to achieve this recognition. Qualitative Human resource has now become a motto of every educational institution. In the challengeable situation of post globalisation era, quality education has become a mandatory criterion for sustenance and this college promises to equip women with qualitative education so that they can sustain anywhere in the world. A group of qualified, dedicated young and energetic teachers are trying their level best to provide the quality education. Besides the college also provide a congenial atmosphere to students to feel secure, comfortable and learn without any trouble. Further we have been providing creditable ground to expose their hidden talent through various co-curricular and extension activities. I am proud to say that, the college is now emerging as a centre of excellence in regards of women education. The increasing trend of yearly admission and qualitative performance of outgoing students prop up this. At present we are providing H.S. arts and B.A course with honours in all arts subjects. In the coming year we are going to open P.G. course in some subjects in accordance with the rules & Regulation of the affiliating university. We have a great dream to make this college a PG institution in future. Before I put down my pen, I again thank all the students and their parents for their extreme desire to be a part of this college and fulfil their dream and ambition. My positive hope goes that they must achieve their destination and contribute a lot by their excellent achievement. Let us walk together to do our best for this intuition.
